Alexandra David-Neel is famous throughout the world for having succeeded, in 1923, in entering Lhasa, the forbidden city of Tibet. Few people know that this extraordinary woman died a hundred years old after having been a journalist, singer, anarchist, writer, explorer and orientalist. Marie-Madeleine Peyronnet, who shared the last ten years of Alexandra's life, sets out to follow in her footsteps in Sikkim to fulfill the explorer's last wish: to return the Buddha statuette.
